I grew up in Inkster, MI, and attended Wayne-Westland schools, where my passion for music began! I picked up the flute at 10 and the electric guitar at 13, and while I may not have become a heavy metal goddess or made millions from my music, I did find my soulmate—the bassist of a heavy metal band I joined in 1998! We tied the knot in 2003, rocked out in the band for four amazing years, and then ventured into martial arts, practicing traditional Hapkido for six years. I still love to write and record songs with him, but I’ve shifted my focus to writing—definitely not forever! After earning associate degrees in engineering and science, I took a moment to dream about the future. I registered for the mechanical engineering curriculum at L.T.U., but the steep costs made me hesitate. I ended up canceling, then registering again, only to cancel once more. But then my wonderful husband said, “If put as much dedication and time into writing as you did with your homework, I think you’d be much happier.” That truly changed my perspective on the future! I’m so grateful for his support!
