FINISHED WORKS

This page is where I tell you about the works I have completed but have not yet published.

Embracing the Beast

June Breslin thought she’d survived everything—cancer, betrayal, divorce—until the drugs that saved her turned her into something else. At night she prowls Livonia with claws that secrete a black, intoxicating toxin; by day she teaches undergraduates and pretends to be human. When a corrupt sheriff, a campus predator, and a string of disappearances fall into blood at her hands, June has to learn to live with the monster beneath her skin.

A frightened student named Kyle becomes more than an ally; he becomes a tether to the life she didn’t want to lose. But Harriet Ivy Corporation, the shadowy lab behind the so-called cure, wants something June can’t give: a child shaped into a weapon. With her sister kidnapped and a ticking deadline, June must choose whether to embrace the beast or destroy the thing growing inside her—before the corporation turns motherhood into massacre.

Target Audience:

Adult readers (25–55) who favor dark, female-led thrillers and antihero narratives. They enjoy morally ambiguous protagonists and visceral scenes told from intimate POV (examples: readers of female-centric psychological thrillers and dark urban fantasy). June’s voice, transgressive impulses, and her complex maternal storyline will especially appeal to readers seeking a subversive, emotionally charged protagonist.

Academies of the Cosmos: Trident of Fire

Gentry lives two lies: the boy his parents raised, and a deeper truth that will not stay buried. He can't do the thing all fire kids are taught to do; he can't summon flame. When his best friend and a girl he loves are pulled into a conspiracy over a priceless artifact, Gentry’s secret is the key—and a sentence. Kidnapped to Fairy and nearly executed for treason, his only chance to save them is to learn spirit magic, face three trials of the Trident, and choose between the family he has and the family he never knew.

This is a story about the cost of belonging. It knits gritty street-level crime and an addict brother's fall, academy misfires, and a mythic realm that’s dying, into one relentless question: what are you willing to lose to save the people you love?

Target Audience:

Academies of the Cosmos: Trident of Fire is best suited for older teens (14–18) and young adults (18–25) who are comfortable with emotionally intense themes, including addiction, trauma, and family secrets. Readers seeking magical intrigue, found family, and realistic portrayals of personal struggles will find the novel compelling.

Kira

When half-fae, half-human Kira Rowan is abducted by a magical court and forced into a political marriage to prevent war, she must use her martial skills, cunning, and hidden magic to resist becoming a pawn in a centuries-old conflict. As her best friend James and his fae lover Malek risk everything to rescue her, Kira becomes the heart of a rebellion that exposes the dark secrets of fae society—including a brutal prison where humans are harvested for magical energy. With her sister’s life on the line and war erupting around her, Kira must unite fae and human allies, confront her own heritage, and lead a revolution that could change both worlds forever. KIRA is a sweeping, sensory-rich fantasy about found family, resilience, and the power of hope in the face of oppression.

Target Audience:

"KIRA" is best suited for older teens and young adults (ages 15+), especially those who enjoy contemporary fantasy with strong character development, LGBTQ+ representation, and themes of resistance and hope. The story’s blend of real-world struggles and magical adventure makes it accessible to both fantasy fans and readers looking for emotional, character-driven narratives.

Lardy Marty

After a magical wish to change his weight goes awry, eleven-year-old Marty Bo finds himself losing gravity and struggling to stay grounded—literally—while navigating bullies, family grief, and the ups and downs of middle school. With the help of his fiercely loyal best friend Jessica and his goofy dog Bozer, Marty must rely on courage, creativity, and the magic of friendship to face his fears, protect his secret, and discover that true belonging means embracing who you are, even when the world tries to pull you away. Blending heartfelt realism with whimsical adventure, Lardy Marty is a story about resilience, hope, and the extraordinary power of ordinary kids.

Target Audience:

middle-grade contemporary novel with elements of magical realism. It blends realistic themes of bullying, friendship, and self-acceptance with a whimsical, fantastical twist—Marty’s gradual loss of gravity after a magical wish—making it both heartfelt and imaginative for readers ages 8–12
